A lecture by one of our Museum volunteers, now published author, Mr Robert Gladding will deliver an account of British military operations in the little known African campaign of the Great War. This will include the British conquest of German East Africa on the slopes of Kilimanjaro between 1914 and 1917, the Senussi Campaign in North Africa and the Sudan 1915 – 1917 and the Guerilla warfare conflicts which took place in German East Africa (modern day Tanzania, Burundi and Rwanda).
