New Exhibition: Trunks and Cases

This summer holiday, the Cheshire Military Museum is set to explore the history of the variety of military trunks and cases utilised by the fighting men of Cheshire. For the very first time, many of these historic boxes will be on display as part of a temporary exhibition that aims to map the developments of how a soldier’s Personnel Military Equipment was managed and stored. Starting with a look at the types of personal trunks and travel chests utilised by the military from the Victorian period up to the 20th century, in addition to the development of military kit bags and webbing.
